responsibilities for teachers? Former Minister of Education does not seem to understand that this idea has its limits.
First, how can you add responsibilities without providing more resources and autonomy to teachers? It is ridiculous to demand more of an employee trapped in a mode that controls barely. The idea is to bring to the teacher only the weight of student achievement and goes against everything that is vehicle for some time with good reason: the academic success of youth is everybody's business. Honestly, if we stay here we are in magical thinking.
Secondly, this idea assumes that a teacher can do more. However, in some cases, we have seen, many teachers are burnt out, when they do not just slam depression. Stir an additional $ before their eyes will not change what they live and what we want from them.
Third, how accurately assess who is at a premium in return? This is yet another issue about a reality that a teacher does not always influence.
I am in favor of a third voice in relation to the two traditional parties that monopolize the Quebec long ago. But it must offer more than ideas that target only teachers who are far from being the main cause of the failures of our school system.
